By way of introduction I am Martin Belgrove and am a Learning Technology Advisor at the University of East London.

My interest in podcasting stems from my first use of audio with students. I uploaded a short audio clip onto the VLE for my students explaining how the course would run and what was expected of them. I looked at the access statistics and found that every student had listened to the clip. I currently use short audio clips to explain things such as assessment.

To my mind audio really does add a different dimension to any message that we are trying to get across to learners.

At UEL there is a variety of podcasting taking place. We are hoping to run a LEO project in the school of Law looking at student and staff perceptions of podcasting which hopefully will evaluate the impact podcasting has on the student experience.
